December Roasters Choice - The most wonderful time of year!
Birthday Blend - Natural & Carbonic Maceration Process
Yes yes, we've made it! It's December which means it's officially time to celebrate the birth of our personal lord and saviour Chipp Coffee Co (you thought I meant Jesus didn't you).
December marks the eighth rotation around the sun for us here at Chipp Coffee Co and we're celebrating by bring you roasters choice lot a special birthday blend just for you.
Birthday Blend - Process & Harvest
This month we wanted to just make something reyt nice to celebrate us and you sticking with us for another 12 months, so we've created a cracking blend from two of our favourite producers.
This body of this blend comes from the lovely people at Agri Evolve who's name at this point should be no stranger to you. They've supplied us with the incredible Rwenzori on several occasions but they also help us create the sweet juicy notes in our Highwire blend that you've all come to know and love.
The second element of this blend comes from the wizards at Gold Mountain in Nicaragua. If you were lucky enough to get your hands on the Maragogype or Naturally Neighbours we had earlier this year then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. They're an incredible organisation that do astounding work within their communities to help build sustainable working practices and infrastructure for generations to come.
Together these two wonderful beans form a deep and rich symphony of flavours that celebrates all the amazing work these producers do and the wonderful relationships we've formed with them over the years. Bring in the new year in style with a Chipp Coffee Co birthday blend!
Chipp Coffee Co Roastery Update
We've been busy packing away all your lovely holiday orders and it's great to see so many Personalised Coffees going out the door. We've had some great messages so far so keep them coming in!
We need a little prayer for Zach moving in to December. After being on the waiting list for over five years the NHS finally decided that December would be the perfect time for our Roastery Manager Rory to have surgery! This means that Zach is going to be doing the jobs of two people for the majority of December, which is our busiest time of year, so please send him all the love and support.
If you follow us on social media you may have seen our festive reels promoting our Christmas coffees. Our Xmas Blend is bringing all the sweet festive notes to any occasion, but we also have a show stopping single origin from Guatemala titled 'La Esperanza' that you need to try. We only have a small amount of this so it won't be around for long and once it's gone it's gone!
What We're Listening To
To be brutally honest generic Christmas music makes me want to throw my speaker at a moving car which is why in the roastery we only have sarcastic Christmas music playing. So here is a small selection of Christmas bangers that are an interesting take on some of the classics plus one guilty pleasure at the end.
First up we have the song 'You're a Mean One Mr Grinch' performed by Small Town Titans. I first came across this song on Facebook of all places and it's becomes a constant rotation every holiday. When I used to be a music teacher I would play this every December and the kids would generally hate it, which to me, is the sign of a great song.
Second up we have one of the most famous songs on the planet 'Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer' performed by one of the late songbirds of a generation DMX. It's exactly what you think it's going to be and if you can get to the end without laughing you're stronger than we are.
Finally, I have to mention 'Christmas Time, Don't Let The Bells End' by The Darkness. This one isn't a joke, I genuinely believe this is one of the best Christmas songs ever written and I'll fight anyone who tries to tell me different. They didn't need to go this hard but they did and each year I am grateful for their contribution to the holidays.
Other honourable mentions go to 'Xmas' by Corey Taylor, as in the frontman of Slipknot Corey Taylor, and 'All I Really Want For Christmas' by the iconic Lil Jon.
These are all great options for something a bit different over the holiday period. Whack any of them on when grandma is over and see what she thinks!
