Alema is born in the highlands of Ecuador and has been a constant pursuit of perfection spanning 80 years and three generations. Alema aims to empower local coffee farmers in Ecuador by creating a platform to sell their highest quality beans at a fair and sustainable price. From farm to cup Alema supports their local community and elevates Ecuadorian coffee to a global stage. We're really proud to bring you this exceptional bean from a truly inspirational farm and family, always roasted with love, the Chipp way.
Ecuador Alema - Process and Harvest
This coffee comes from the sun-drenched Ecuadorian highlands at a breath-taking 1940 MASL. For reference this is about 1.5x the height of the Empire State Building so yeah.... pretty high up. This high altitude combined with the glorious South American climate creates the perfect conditions for growing some of the worlds best coffee. Using traditional methods, the coffee trees are treated with the utmost care, with no harmful chemicals used at any stage. If you want to discover the taste of Ecuador, this is a shining example in it's purest form.
Chipp Coffee Co - Roastery Update
As always we're super busy, so again, we'd like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. We've had some changes to our coffee line up over the last few weeks, The Lady and all its fruity tangy goodness has unfortunately left us since you all couldn't get enough of it but we've replaced it with a stunning anaerobic natural coffee from El Salvador called El Carmen and just because we love you all so much we also brought back a showstopping geisha from Marisela Sanchez in Colombia. As long as you keep drinking the beans we'll keep slinging the beans out thick and fast.
What We're Listening To
This month we've been graced with a new banger from the masked musical monsters otherwise known as Sleep Token. For those that have been living under a rock, Sleep Token are a metal band from the UK who wear crazy fancy masks to protect their identities. They combine melodic and soulful melodies with deep and crushing riffs that we can't get enough of. Their new track Caramel is an absolute banger that gets better with every listen.
